Not all couches are one size fits all. The cushions have held up wonderfully, no sagging or compression. The frames are all still intact, which I wasn't expecting considering I have 2 kids that enjoy jumping on the couch. My only 2 complaints after all this time is that I don't love the fabric we chose, and the seats are not as deep as I'd like, but we've gotten used to it. So what’s involved in putting together you’re own couch from what can only be described as wooden, plastic, and foam puzzle pieces? I took the day off when ours was delivered so I could dedicate the whole day to putting the sectional together.
I didn’t want to get started, then have to call it a night with boxes and cushions everywhere, and start again the next day. Our sectional consisted of 6 Armless sections, 2 Corners, 1 Left Armchair, 1 Modular Ottoman , and 3 freestanding Ottomans. Once we got it assembled and put together, we realized we would have liked one more armless piece to fill out the end section a little bit more.
Things We bought on Amazon for Our Home Recently
If I ever have need for another sofa/sectional/chair, pretty sure Home Reserve is the first place I’ll look. Home Reserve has a 30-day risk-free trial. They allow you to order one armless unit in any style with any of their fabric choices. Once you get your box in you assemble the unit. If you’re not satisfied you can return it and get a refund for the full price including shipping. I never utilized this service but I love that it’s an option.
The fact we can add or take away from our layout and change our fabric is just wild to me. Even if we ever move again we are set. We never have to worry about if our couch will fit in our space. When I looked up our shipment it stated they were working on our order that week but the next day I got an email stating it was to arrive in 2 days! In the end the couch did happen to arrive within the 15 day time frame.
Comfortable, clean and storage
I chose this company based on their ethos, which the employees, in turn, emulated thoroughly. When we looked further into the features, we found that every. That is huge for us because our home has minimal closet and storage space. As for pet hair the one thing I noticed is the color & material of Maltese Flax shows black dog hair a little more than other colors. It is still very easy to vacuum and wipe off. The only time I have really missed those wide comfy seats is when I was sick with the flu a couple of weeks ago and my sore muscles were really wanting to sprawl out a bit more.
They offer a line of “pet care” fabrics. I would highly recommend Home Reserve to anyone! Whether you are a dog owner, cat owner, have kids or it’s just you this couch can grow with you in all seasons of life. It’s great quality, looks amazing, customer service is top notch and the whole process from ordering to assembling is so easy. So I purchased this couch just because of all the great reviews.
I received my sectional and it was missing parts and had mfg errors…
And maybe one day I will want to go back to the curvy look, who knows. If that day comes, I can order new back cushions and a new arm for the end chair in the curvy styles and change the entire look of the sectional. It really is an ingenious way of creating your own custom and unique look for your own life. I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical about the 10-year warranty on the frame when everything was delivered in flat-pack boxes, ready to be assembled. Once you order your sectional/couch typically your shipment should arrive in about 15 days. At the time of my order I knew they were a little behind but to be honest they did an amazing job.
The website also was very helpful in tips to complete my build. The style I selected partially did not fit my expectations. I then discovered what Home Reserves real superpower was...Stephanie of Customer Support.
Superb customer service
I had all intentions of sharing it shortly after setting it up, but with the holidays I kept putting it off and now here we are 5 months later haha. So, that’s all the good stuff, but there’s got to be some downsides, right? Well, I guess that depends on your personality. I am in the weird crowd, in that I actually enjoy assembling flat-pack furniture. It’s like a giant puzzle and the satisfaction of standing back and looking at my “creation” is all the thanks I need. So if you don’t like to assemble furniture, but this still seems like a great idea to you, find someone willing to do it for you because it’s really worth it in my opinion.
The unfinished wood leaves dust & wood chips all over & splinters in the cushions. It’s hell just trying to vacuum the inside of it. These couches are for looks only, not for everyday life & they don’t even look that nice. 2 stars for lasting almost a year. First, to order a custom couch during the insane shipping times and have it come in two weeks flat was amazing. Second, Home Reserve worked with me to ensure it came just on the day I wanted.
I ordered this at first, since I figured it would be the last couch I buy. If kids or dog stained or broke it, I could just replace those pieces & not the entire thing. Well one year later & way too many pieces are broken & need to be replaced. The price for replacement is way too much. Might as well buy a whole new couch for that price & never have to deal with this piece of crap again.
We just went back to the website and ordered the one extra piece. If we ever want to change or reconfigure the layout, each piece can be unattached from it’s neighbor and rearranged as we see fit. It’s 100% customizable to your exact needs. We decided to go with the Ray style from Home Reserve, which they describe as having a “modern, low-profile nice arm”. I was kind of over the curved, puffy cushions of our old couch, and the Ray style was exactly what we were looking for. I received my sectional and it was missing fittings and also feet.
I do still like it, and it has been used a ton more now that the kids are home more often . After getting to see the sectional first hand really just verified the fact that we wanted one of these sectionals for our loft space. A brutally honest, unbiased review of the Home Reserve Sectional and what you should know before you purchase one. Companies can ask for reviews via automatic invitations. Labeled Verified, they’re about genuine experiences.
First of all, assembly was a nightmare. Had no idea it would take this much. Had we known, we probably would not have made the purchase even though I love the idea of washable covers. Secondly, it arrived with missing pieces. We were on a tight time crunch because our house is a vacation rental and it all had to be done in a matter of days.
If you go to their site they have a section you can track your shipment. It will tell you how far behind they are and what orders they are working on that current week. The customer service team is the best I have ever worked with! I messed up my order and they bent over backwards to help me find a solution. Also, the couches are amazingly made.
When you sit on it you feel like your sitting in a chair because the base is so short. It’s impossible to even lay down on it because as an adult you will just not fit. Of course, time will tell how it holds up.
